Welcome Back 10th Graders!!! First I would like to say I hope each and everyone
had a great and restful summer. I look forward to teaching you a host of new
information and several new strategies to assist you in analyzing historical
data. My ultimate goal this year is to help my students think like a historian
and formulate their own perspective about events and people of American history.
This year will consist of a pivotal presidential election in our nation's
history and we will examine the political process that the Constitution has
created for the Executive Branch of the United States of America. We will also
take a close look at the first part of American History from the beginnings-
Reconstruction(1877). Becoming a
productive and active citizen in your community, city, state, and country will
allow you to create your own personal history and my plans are to build the
foundations for it!
1st Assignment- Due 8/23/2012 by 12:00a.m.
Midnight
Students will introduce themselves to the class Blog Post. Name,
interest, goals, likes and dislikes of history, plans for school year, future
career/occupation, college of choice, etc. (anything positive you would like the
class to know about you). This welcome post should be at least 1 one paragraph
in length (5 sentences). (see teacher example). The blog post are mandatory
weekly and will count as 50 points.
2nd Assignment-Due 8/25/2012 by 12:00a.m.
Midnight
Students are required to respond to (2) two of their classmates blog
post. Students are required to write a two sentence reply to their classmates
original post. Comments are to be respectful and positive. Each comment post
will count as 25 points which is a total of 50 points. I look forward to reading
your blog post and I he you enjoy a positive form of cyber communication in this
class for the 2012-2013 school year!!!
My name is FALLIN Ladd and I am a Social Studies Teacher at Woodlawn High School. I am married with two children Collin and Chelslyn and I most times refer to them as my2CBL. I have been teaching for the past 6 years and I have a strong passion for history. I am currently a student at the University of Montevallo working towards my Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership. I am looking forward to working with all of my students this year and I expect success from each and every one of you!!!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Frederick Mearon but I like to go by Fred. I'm shy don't like to talk much but will if I have to. Also I like being around my friends and playing basketball with them and talk about crazy things. My plans for school this is to pass the exit exam and the 11th grade. I really don't have no like or dislike about history. Over this summer I been looking UTI and Lincoln college both are automotive technician school. My future career is to one day word for ford and make something of my self.

When it comes to school im a hard working attentive goof. my after school plans are to go to college for all of the arts that includes: singing, dancing, painting, sculpting, and drawing. My goals are to pass the Graduation Exam, pass the 10th grade with A-B Honor Roll, and go to college. I would like to attend Auburn University. I dont have any likes and dislikes. That pretty much wraps it up.

I am a very cool person to be around and i'm very easy to get along with , I love animals I wanna major in veterinary medicine in college. I would love to attend UAB so I can stay near my family and friends. Also my plan for the school year is to get my education and forget about all the other irrelevant things that go on around me. Well i guess those are just a few things i can say about myself.

DeleteI go by the name of Shakeria Hale. I am a tenth grader as you can see. Im a very distant person until I get to know you, Im laid back and Im always honest about things. Im a very trusth worthy person and kind hearted. My hobbies are sleeping and shopping. History to me is an okay subjuct I can get easily distracted though. Im looking forward to learing all the things that I dont know in history and bettering myself in other skills.

DeleteHey my name Tony Thomas and I am in the 10th grade. I take Mrs.Ladd's history class on 5th block. My favorite subject is History and I find it very interesting. I am a very outspoken person and silly at times but mostly I am very well put together. I rap wit my brother and have videos on youtube.com. When I grow up I want to try my best to settle down with the one that I love and have kids and be a very sucessful person because my career is yet to be determined. I plan on completing high school and moving forward to college which also is undetermined. That is mainly the important things about me anything else please don't be timid to ask me especially when you see me in the hallways. :)
